One of the first posts for Yards of Legacy project is with Radhika Putty. This beauty she is wearing here is a kanchipuram silk sari with pure silver border. This is very special to Radhika as it is her mother’s wedding sari. It is 37 years old.
Radhika wants to bring back the memories of her mother’s wedding day, on how beautiful she herself looked when she sees her daughter in this sari. Like all us daughters hope that we are atleast a reflection of the grace and beauty that our mothers are.
Radhika went with a silver jewelry look as she thinks silver compliments her better and the sari might have never seen silver jewelry on it, with the nose pin being the highlight of it all. She jokingly adds that she might have spoiled the sari just by wearing it for a few hours and is surprised and grateful that her mother has maintained a white sari so well for 37 long years. I hope it stays on for many more years weaving more memories to it’s story.
